“Market slowdown.”
“Prices dropping.”
“Is this 2008 again?”
Every headline is designed to do one thing:
Get your attention.
Not tell you the truth.
Because if you actually look at the data…
We are not in a crash.
We’re in a normalization.
And if you’re a serious agent, this is where you separate yourself from the crowd.
What the Data Actually Says
Let’s get grounded in reality.
Yes:
Days on market are up in many areas
Some markets have seen modest price adjustments
Buyers have more leverage than they did 18 months ago
But no:
We are not seeing widespread distressed inventory
We are not seeing forced selling at scale
We are not seeing systemic collapse
This is not 2008.
This is a shift from chaos to balance.
From frenzy to fundamentals.

“Hey [Name], I saw your home came off the market and I’m sure that’s frustrating. The reason I’m calling is because homes are still selling — but the strategy matters more than ever. Would you be open to a quick conversation about what I would do differently to get it sold?”
Simple.
Direct.
Respectful.
And effective.
If you’re not calling expireds right now, you are missing one of the easiest listing pipelines in today’s market.
Daily Prospecting Is No Longer Optional
Let’s get clear:
In a hot market, you can get away with inconsistent prospecting.
In a normal market, you can’t.
Your new baseline:
2 hours per day of prospecting
Every day
No exceptions
This includes:
Expired listings
Circle prospecting
Past client follow-up
Sphere calls
Referral conversations
If it doesn’t directly lead to a conversation, it doesn’t count.
No scrolling.
No “marketing prep.”
No busy work.

Get in the Right Rooms
This might be the most overlooked advantage.
Who you spend time with will determine how you see the market.
If you’re around agents who are:
Complaining
Slowing down
Blaming conditions
You will start thinking the same way.
Instead, get around people who are:
Listing homes
Closing deals
Building pipelines
Expanding their business
Success leaves clues.
Go find them.
Action Plan (Execute This Now)
No theory. Just action.
☐ Block 2 hours daily for prospecting
☐ Pull your local expired listings list
☐ Call 10–20 expireds per day
☐ Reconnect with 10 past clients this week
☐ Use AI to eliminate at least 1 hour of admin daily
☐ Practice 2 scripts per day (out loud)
☐ Identify 3 top agents in your market and learn from them
Do this for 30 days.
Your pipeline will look completely different.
Final Thought
The headlines will keep saying “crash.”
